Exposing Exceptionalisms: B(e)aring Complicities and Framing Resistances

چکیده

Exceptionalisms are reductive, short-sighted, and often convoluted rationalizations for refusing relational accountabilities. They systematically deliver narrowly conceived benefits to some at great expense others who habitually held from public view voice. In neoliberal times, excuses ignoring damage justifying harms legion. Our planet is choking on the standard business practice of externalizing costs while permitting pollution, social ills, health consequences pile up in lives marginalized peoples, species, places, with complicit nation states increasingly ill-equipped address fallout. Some exceptionalisms, like “doctrine discovery,” perpetrated centuries virtual impunity, masquerading as sacred edict until mass graves children surfacing residential school grounds reveal assimilative evils that more difficult ignore those have benefitted most.

Triangle inequality for resistances

Given an electrical circuit each edge e of which is an isotropic conductor with a monomial conductivity function y∗ e = y r e/μ s e. In this formula, ye is the potential difference and y∗ e current in e, while μe is the resistance of e, while r and s are two strictly positive real parameters common for all edges. In 1987, Gvishiani and Gurvich [4] proved that, for every two nodes a, b of the ci...

THERMAL FATIGUE RESISTANCES OF 356 AND 413 CAST Al ALLOYS

Abstract: Thermal fatigue is a stochastic process often showing considerable scatter even in controlled environments. Due to complexity of thermal fatigue, there is no a complete analytical solution for predicting the effect of this property on the life of various components, subjected to severe thermal fluctuations. Among these components, one can mention car cylinder, cylinder head and pi...

Resources, Framing, and Transfer Resources, Framing, and Transfer

As researchers studying student reasoning in introductory physics, and as instructors teaching courses, we often focus on whether and how students apply what they know in one context to their reasoning in another. But we do not speak in terms of “transfer.” The term connotes to us a unitary view of knowledge as a thing that is acquired in one context and carried (or not) to another. We speak, r...
